DELEGATION OF BANK OF CHINA'S VISIT IN POLAND

In order to promote the further development of economic, trade and financial relationship between China and central and eastern Europe regions, a delegation of Bank of China headed by Zhou Zaiqun, Vice President of Bank of China paid a visit to Poland from 28th to 30th May 2001, at the invitation of president of Handlowy Bank in Warsaw SA.
Mr. Zhou  met with Krzysztof Janusz Ners, Vice Minister of Ministry of Finance. They exchanged views on recent economic situation of respective countries, financial policies, financial co-operation between two countries and issues about readiness of Poland for joining EU etc. Mr. Zhou also met with Vice President of Handlowy Bank in Warsaw SA. Antoni Sala, Vice President of National Bank of Poland Jerzy Stopyra, Executive Director of Bank Pekao Jerzy Jozwiak, Member of Executive Committee of ING Bank Ewa Luniewska, and president of Banking Association Andrzej Lopinski. During the meetings, they discussed the possibility of setting up a branch of Bank of China in Poland and talked about policy to foreign banks, inspection and supervision system, privatization of banks and so on. Mr. Zhou invited the bankers of Poland to visit Bank of China in return, and expressed his sincere thanks for their warm entertainment.
