Crowds of Tibetan Buddhists walk in front of Johkang Monastery with chanting wheels in their hands. They remain praying until midnight.
Overlooking Lhasa on the Yaowang Mountain, one can see the main avenues are decorated with neon lights. Local residents and overseas tourists pass their spare time at ballrooms and karaoke halls in the streets.
A ballroom entitled "Youngsters' Club" is decorated with colorful frescos, Hada, a piece of white silk used by the Tibetans to show respect and the portrait of the Panchan Lama. Performers, clad in Tibetan garments, sing in Chinese and Tibetan. Visitors are intoxicated in the dance with ethnic flavor.
